The Met. Department says that under the disturbed atmospheric conditions over vicinity of Sri Lanka showers can be expected. Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly during the afternoon and night.
Heavy showers (more than 100mm) are also likely in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva, Southern and Central provinces.
“There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities,” the Department says.
