An infant was killed and at least 44 persons were injured after a private buse veered off the road and fell into a precipice this morning, the police said.
The accident occurred in Dampelgoda area in Undugoda at around 6.30 a.m.
The wounded persons have been admitted to the hospitals in Undugoda and Kegalle.
The police have arrested the driver and he will be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate, today.
