Man stabbed to death with broken bottle

A 31-year-old man has been stabbed and murdered with a broken bottle in the Vithanage Mawatha area in Slave Island.
The victim, a resident of Stewart Street in Colombo 2, was reportedly stabbed in the neck at around 7.00pm last night after a dispute between two groups had escalated out of control.
He was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital with critical injuries, however passed away shortly after.
The suspect has been identified while police said he has fled the area.
Slave Island Police are conducting further investigations.
