Embilipitiya UNP PS member joins UPFA

Embilipitiya Pradeshiya Sabha member Jayaweera Matharaarachchi of the United National Party today defected to the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA).
Matharaarachchi who met President Mahinda Rajapaksa pledged to support the government at the forthcoming Presidential election.
Meanwhile, the second rally of the UPFA has commenced in Nawalapitiya, this morning.
The UPFA election campaign has already begun in 35,440 villages belonging to 14022 Grama Seva Divisions for securing the UPFA Candidate’s victory to protect the country’s freedom and progress. The UPFA will hold 227 main political rallies and 14,587 public meetings to ensure the President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s victory, the UPFA media unite said.
