A 32-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter died after an earth embankment collapsed on their house in the Hasalaka area in Kandy this morning.
The victims were rescued and rushed to the Hasalaka Hospital by police officers and residents in the area, however they were pronounced dead on admittance, Kandy District Secretary Gamini Seneviratne said.
