One person was killed and three others were injured due to a landslide in Muruthalawa area in Peradeniya, early hours of this morning.
Triggered by heavy rain fall reported in the area for few days, a house has also been damaged due the mudslide, Ada Derana reporter said.
The deceased was identified as a 44-year old person who was on a visit to his cousin’s house in Muruthalawa during the vacation.
The wounded persons including a child have been admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital.
With the prevailing extreme weather condition is expected to continue with in next 24-hours, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has issued landslide warning for six districts as well.
The land slide warnings have been issued to Kegalle, Ratnapura, Matale, Kandy, Badull, and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
