Three dead due to earth slips in Badulla

Two persons of the same family were killed after an earth embankment collapsed on their home in the Galkanda area in Badulla today.
Police said a 54-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son have been identified as the victims.
Meanwhile in a separate incident one person died also due to an earth embankment collapsing on to a residence in the Hegoda area in Badulla.
The victim has still not been identified.
Prevailing adverse weather conditions in the area have caused earth slips and mudslides at several locations while authorities have urged the public to remain cautious.
