Man who self-immolated near Viharamahadevi Park dies

The person committed self immolation near the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo yesterday has succumbed to injuries at the Colombo National Hospital.

 

 The 72-year-old man, a resident of Pannipitiya, passed away last night, a spokesman for the hospital said.

 

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo National Hospital with life threatening injuries after dousing himself with kerosene and setting himself ablaze yesterday morning.

 

The police have not disclosed reasons behind the suicide yet.
