Met Department warns of rough seas

The Met. Department forecasts showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Galle via Baticaloa, Pottuvil and  Hambantota.

 

Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be 30-40 kmph.

 

According to the Department, the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and Hambanthota to Batticaloa via Pottuvil, may be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.

 

Showers will also occur at several places in the Central, Northern and North Central Provinces and in the Hambanthota  district.
