Three cannabis cultivations raided within Yala forest reserve

In two separate raids, three cannabis cultivations have been discovered in Kandaketiya area within the Yala forest reserve by the police Special Task Force (STF) last afternoon (16).
The STF teams have also apprehended 11 suspects during the raids.
“Over 50,000 cannabis plants were found. The plants will be uprooted and destroyed. The suspects were handed over to the Buttala police for further legal measures,” a STF officer said.
The apprehended persons will be produced before the Monaragala Magistrate, today.
