The Colombo High Court on Thursday (19) awarded the death sentence to a 60-year-old man arrested by the Police Narcotic Bureau on drug trafficking charges.
The judgment was delivered when the case was taken up for hearing before High Court Judge Preethi Padman Surasena.
Accused Mohammad Amir, a resident of Kiribathgoda, was arrested in Hokandara for possession of six grams and 680 milligrams of heroin in 2006.
