Ex-LTTE cadre who accused in double murder remanded

The police on Saturday (9) arrested an ex-LTTE cadre, who returned to the country few days ago from abroad, in Ariyapadi area in Batticaloa district, the Police Spokesperson said.
The individual is also suspected in a double murder incident, Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told Ad Derana.
“A case has also been filed over his involvement in the double murder in which he allegedly gunned down two persons with a T-56 firearm in Ariyapadi area in 2003,” the Spokesperson said.
The suspect has been remanded till 22 May by the Batticaloa Magistrate, he added.
