Largest ‘media extortion’: organisation attempts to make false allegations
Mobitel Inner

The largest extortion allegedly solicited by a media organisation in the country’s history exceeds to the tune of nearly USD 3 million (approximate Rs. 400 million), a reliable source told Ada Derana.

More details of the racket have come to light and it will be disclosed to the public within the upcoming days.

It has also come to notice that the relevant media organisation now attempts to launch a mudslinging campaign against the board of directors of Ada Derana, in their bid to counter attack.

Ada Derana uncovered information regarding what is quite possibly the largest ‘extortion’ in the history of Sri Lankan media, skillfully carried out by one of a leading media organization, last week.

The preliminary step of the scheme is to intimidate local and foreign investors by ruthlessly criticizing their projects, which are benefiting the country, by falsely portraying them as harmful to the country.

Following the intimidation process, the organization in question follows a new media trend of obtaining bribes from the investors after promising to boost the image of their respective projects, using the various platforms of media at its disposal.

Ada Derana intends to reveal all information regarding this matter in the near future.
