
An individual, who allegedly abducted a six-year-old girl in Thillaiyadi, Velankanni area, has been remanded until June 9 by the Puttalam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (2).
A search operation was triggered in the area for nearly 2-hours to rescue the abducted girl, last afternoon (1).
The girl was rescued unharmed by the residents of the area, and also nabbed the suspect who has been identified as a 34-year-old individual from Palavi, Puttalam.
“The girl was on her way home from school when she was abducted by the suspect. She was rescued from a scrub jungle near the Thillaiyadi, Velankanni kovil,” a police officer said.
The suspect will be reproduced before the Puttalam Magistrate on June 9.
