Fourteen suspects arrested and remanded for unruly behavior outside the Jaffna court complex last month, have been acquitted and released, Ada Derana reporter said.
However, they have each been ordered by the court to pay Rs 100,000.
Meanwhile another suspect arrested in connection with the incident was ordered released on bail.
On May 20, a total of 130 were arrested during protests as Police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd, who were demanding that authorities hand over nine men who were arrested over the gang-rape and murder of a 17-year-old schoolgirl in Jaffna.
Out of the arrested suspects, 39 are still in remand custody.
