Domestic probe to be finalized before August

Sri Lanka’s domestic commission to probe allegations of war crimes committed during the final stages of the country’s 30-year civil war will be finalized by the last week of July, a senior minister said on Wednesday.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ajith Perera told Xinhua that the Sri Lankan government had already begun drafting the legal framework of the commission, and the commission itself would be finalized by the end of July.
“The legal drafting is currently going on. We will hopefully see the final outcome of the commission by the last week of July,” the deputy minister said.
