An Indian national has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for attempting smuggle a stash of foreign currency, out of the country.
Sri Lankan customs said that 28,000 Euros and 4,000 sterling pounds estimated to be worth around Rs 5,188,267 was found in the possession of the suspect.
He was preparing to board a flight to Chennai.
