A letter has been sent to the IGP in bid to request to strengthen the security of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, his Coordinating Secretary Rohan Weliwita told Ada Derana.
Weliwita said that the letter has already been sent to the IGP, in this regard.
Weliwita added that the police have failed to provide security for meetings held in Hambantota on 11 July, in which the former President attended, though the party had earlier informed the senior police officers about these events.
