
The Elections Secretariat says that all candidates contesting the upcoming General Election should submit their assets and liabilities declarations before July 30, 2015.
A spokesman for the secretariat said that the obtaining of information of candidates on a district level is currently underway and that several candidates have already declared their assets and liabilities.
It has been reported that identification cards will not be issued for candidates who have not submitted declarations of assets and liabilities.
It is said that the Election Commissioner has instructed that the identification card issued by the Elections Secretariat only be provided to candidates who have submitted declarations of assets and liabilities.
