Ranil wants all to live as kings and no ‘royal family’

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that he wants to make every citizen of the country live like kings and not just establish a ‘royal family’.

All civil society groups will join together and work towards this purpose, he said at an event in Colombo today (28) for the singing of an agreement between the United National Front and a collective of civil society organisations.

Wickremesinghe stated that even during the eras of D.S. Senanayake and Dudley Senanayake agreements were signed between political parties and civil society groups for national common needs.

He stated that once the objective is achieved the parties would separate again and that there is no issue in that.

The UNP leader said that the movement which was cooperatively built to reestablish democracy and good governance in the country on January 08 should be taken forward in a strong manner and that they would dedicate themselves for this purpose.
