Mervyn to give evidence on abductions and disappearance cases

Colombo Chief Magistrate today (25) issued notices on former Minister Mervyn Silva to appear in the court on November 11 to give evidence in an abduction case, Ada Derana court reporter said.
The notice was issued when a Habeas Corpus petition filed by relatives of three missing people in Mattakkuliya, was taken up for hearing before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.
The defence counsels argued that the former Minister should be summoned to the Court as he had earlier made a complaint with the CID saying that he possesses information about the ‘white vans’.
