Heavy showers today – Met Dept

The Meteorological Department forecasts showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern Provinces. Heavy rain fall of approximately 100mm likely in some places, the Disaster Management Centre said.
Possibility for heavy rain in the southwestern parts and strong winds over the island and neighbouring sea areas are still high, the Met Department said.
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces. Showers may extend to North western province too.
Heavy falls (about 100 mm) are also likely at some places.
Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces after 4.00 pm.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
