DIG remanded over treasure hunt

A DIG, who allegedly aided a treasure hunt in Vavuniya, has been remanded till September 23 by the Fort Magistrate, the police said.
The Acting Police Spokesperson said that the Police Department Special Investigation Unit was on the look out for DIG U.K. Dissanayake over the incident since few days.
According to the police, seven suspects, including three police officers have already been arrested. With the police investigations launched into this case, the DIG was transferred from the Vavuniya District to the Batticaloa District, it was reported.
