Next Independence Day in the afternoon

The government has decided to hold the 68th Independence Day next year (2016), in the afternoon, according to the Government Information Department.
This decision has been taken following a discussion between Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and Minister Vajira Abeywardena.
Issuing a communique, the Home Affairs Ministry states that President Maithrepala Sirisena has given his consent to this decision. The communique also states that Prime Minister Wickremasinghe has paid his attention to provide state employment to all graduates.
