
While emphasizing the need to give priority to prevention of kidney diseases as it spreads in the island nation, President Maithripala Sirisena on Sunday (18) praised Derana media network’s effort to assist the families of those affected by the disease.
“The government of Sri Lanka too takes the responsibility of fighting against the disease as a key priority. We as a government welcome and admire the effort of the Derana media network on its effort to help the families of those affected by kidney disease,” President SIrisena said in a statement.
TV Derana in its CSR initiative Manusath Derana this morning successfully launched the second step of the foster parent scholarship scheme “Derane Daruwo” to raise funds to educate children of families affected.
