The body of a middle aged woman has been discovered inside an abandoned house in the Thiladiya area in Puttalam.
The discovery was made by police officers who carried out a search of the house, acting on information received.
Preliminary inquiries have identified the deceased as a 50-year-old resident of the area.
The cause of death has not been ascertained yet while Puttalam Police is conducting an investigation.
