The country’s economy in jeopardy with there is a risk of investors moving away from the island nation, MP Bandula Gunawardena says.
The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo today (29).
Gunawardena also pointed out that there is a risk of China recouping the money that they invested here.
However, the Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake, said that the Government has recently called on Swiss investors to invest in Sri Lanka.
He said that since the change of the new government in January 2015, there is a strong national oriented government in place ushering in sustainable political stability for Sri Lanka. “Now that the process of political stabilization has taken place, the government is laying emphasis on the economic stabilization of the country. We have de-politicized the running of the administration through independent commissions appointed to look after the financial system, law and order, human rights etc,” he said.
