An object named as WT1190F is expected to enter the Earth’s atmosphere on 13 November and will fall into the Ocean about 100 km off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, said The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies.
It has been discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey based in University of Arizona.
According to the European Space Agency (ESA), this mysterious object is currently orbiting Earth in every three weeks and not expected to cause any damage when it enters the Earth’s atmosphere.
Object appears to be manmade and quite small. Possibly it could be completely burn-up in the atmosphere.
Whatever is left will fall into the ocean about 100 km off the southern coast of Sri Lanka. In accordance with the current scientific information, its mass is not sufficient to cause any threat to the area, the Defence Ministry said in its website.
The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) is coordinating this event in collaboration with the ‘Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence’ (SETI) Institute in California.
