Heavy traffic at Nugegoda due to student protest

Severe traffic congestion reported along High-level Road near the flyover in Nugegoda due to a protest march by a group of university students.
The protest, organized by the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF), commenced from near the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is heading towards the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The protest march is being held against the police attack on protesting HNDA students at Ward Place last week.
Earlier today a directive was issued by the Nugegoda Magistrate to hold the demonstration without obstructing traffic along the main road.
