Since good old days, storytelling has a unique strength to engage people. With the revolution in the field of media and communication, Participatory Video Storytelling (PVS) has become a globally known potential tool to empower disadvantaged by encouraging them to film their own stories. This process of PVS involves participants learning filming skills, engaging in a participatory planning, discussing and developing narratives for their stories.

Giving these due considerations, the SDJF has pleasure in announcing its forthcoming projects on PVS. The objective of the projects is to build the capacity of youths on PVS as a potential tool to portray the stories of the disadvantaged which will eventually propel their stories into a new course of action.

For the projects in Matara and Kandy, candidates from those districts will be given priority whereas for the third project undergraduates, graduates, media students and social activists from all parts of the Island could take part.
