The police security for several Councillors in the Northern Provincial Council has been withdrawn, it was reported.
The security has been withdrawn since last afternoon, Northern Provincial Councillor M.K. Sivajilingam said.
Sivajilingam also charged that the police security was withdrawn without a prior notice.
The Secretary of the Law and Order Ministry was not available for a comment.
