The Department of Meteorology says that the atmospheric disturbance still persists in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island, particularly after 12.00 noon while showers can occur at some places in the morning too, it said.
Heavy falls (about 100 mm) are also likely at some places.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
