Severe weather advisory for heavy rainfall

The Met Department says that under the influence of the disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, showers or thundershowers will occur at times over Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.
According to a severe weather advisory issued by the department’s Early Warning Centre, thundershowers will develop elsewhere after 02.00p.m. while very heavy rain falls (about 150mm) are also expected at some places.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
