Woman dies after wall collapses in Grandpass

A woman was killed after a wall collapsed on her in the Grandpass area.
Police said that a 57-year-old woman, a resident of Ferguson Road in Grandpass, was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital in critical condition after the incident which occurred on Grandpass-Madampiya road.
However, she had succumbed to injuries shortly after.
Meanwhile a youth has been reported missing after he drowned in the Melwatta Canal in the Gandpass Police area.
He had drowned when attempting to retrieve a ball which had fallen into the canal.
The navy and police are conducting search operations.
