Grade one student admissions increased

The maximum number of student admissions for a grade one class will be increased to 40 with effect from next year, the Education Ministry says.
At present, the maximum of 35 students are accepted for a grade one class.
A circular with respect to the new system will be issued to school principals, education secretaries and district education officers within next few days, the Education Ministry said in a statement.
However, the ministry also predicts that there will be a maximum of 35 students per class by 2021 as the maximum number of students will be systematically reduced within next few years.
