
Two more suspects arrested over their alleged involvement in the Dematagoda kidnapping of a youth by a group in a Defender, were remanded till January 04 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
A 34-year-old was abducted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a Land Rover Defender which is reportedly owned by MP Hirunika Premachandra.
Initially 6 suspects were arrested with the vehicle and they were remanded by court, however the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) arrested two more suspects yesterday. They are said to be residents of Borella.
The victim who is a resident of Kolonnawa was abducted by the group on December 21 in Dematagoda area over a clandestine love affair between the victim and one of the suspects’ wives.
The victim had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following the incident.
