Foreign Minister, Mangala Samaraweera and Finance Minister, Ravi Karunanayake are in the Maldives on a two-day official visit.
They were greeted on arrival at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, by Fathimath Inaya, Deputy Minister and Dr. Hussain Niyaaz, Additional Secretary of the Ministry, the Maldives Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministers are visiting the Maldives upon the invitation by the Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon and the purpose of the visit is to discuss ways in which we can further enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of mutual concern.
During the visit, the Ministers will call on Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, President of the Republic of Maldives.
In addition, Samaraweera will also call on Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives and Minister of Karunanayake will call on Abdulla Jihad, Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Maldives.
