The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today severely criticised the Government for its failure to fulfill the election promise to take legal action against those who are in the spotlight for wrong doings during the former government’s time.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva also pointed out the civil society organisations, political parties and the tread unions supported the election campaign of Maithripala Sirisena not to make him the President, but to defeat the Rajapaksa regime.
The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo.
“The Prime Minister and the President had taken the advantage by saying that they would take legal action against the murders and the corrupt politicians of the previous government. These promises have merely limited to words,” he added.
