
The Principal of the Ranwala Mahanaga Maha Vidyalaya in Kegalle and a Buddhist monk who served as the school clerk have been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
Director of the commission’s Investigation Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Priyantha Chandrasiri, stated that they were arrested at the school premises today (21) while soliciting a bribe of Rs 60,000 to enroll a Grade 6 student.
He stated that the suspects will be produced at the Kegalle Magistrate’s Court and that further investigations are being carried out regarding the incident.
