Heavy traffic on Galle Road due to rehearsals

Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on Galle Road between Wellawatta and Colombo Fort due to Independence Day rehearsals at Galle Face.

 

A special traffic plan has been announced in view of the rehearsals.  

 

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter from the Ceramic Junction and on the roads adjacent to the Army Headquarters in Slave Island will also be closed for several hours with only military vehicles allowed in.

 

The 68th Independence Day celebrations will be held on February 4 at 8.00 am at the Galle Face Green, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
