New act not being introduced upon Govt.’s requirement- Speaker

The decision to draft the Theravada Bhikkhu Dialogue act is a timely move however it is not being introduced upon the requirement of the Government, the Speaker says.
The observation was made at an event held in Ambalangoda, Ada Derana reporter said.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya added that steps have been taken to apprise the Government on the interpretation of the Supreme Court with respect to the new bill.
The Speaker also said that the Act will only be adopted with the blessings of the Maha Sangha.
