
Four Sri Lankan nationals, lodged in Cheyyar special camp for refugees have been shifted to Tiruchi special camp, The Hindu reported.
The erstwhile Chengalpattu special camp for refugees was shifted to Cheyyar on 6, June, 2014 with 27 inmates. Since then the camp keeps on receiving and inmates of different nationalities and several of them were being released now and then.
Finally there were only four inmates and they often resorted to hunger strikes seeking release. They were all shifted to the Tiruchi special camp on Friday. However, the special camp in Cheyyar was not closed and it may receive new inmates in future, sources said.
