The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that one turbine at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant is currently in operation and that the remaining two will be operational tonight.
With the operational turbine over 250 MW has already been added to the national grid.
The CEB said it expects power cuts to end from midnight today (17) as the remaining to turbines will be operational by then.
