
The National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa and six others were today released on bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court over a complaint filed by the Cinnamon Gardens Police.
The complaint was filed regarding a protest in Colombo against the arrival of UN Human Rights Chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein last month.
The seven National Freedom Front members are alleged to have caused inconvenience to the public by blocking the roads with no prior approval.
Jayantha Samaraweera, Weerakumara Dissanayake, Piyasiri Wijenayake, Mohammed Muzammil, Roger Seneviratne are among those that were released on bail.
