Police have launched an investigation into the death of a mother and her infant son after falling into a well near a residence in Palai, Jaffna.
The bodies of a 32-year-old woman and her one-month-old son were recovered after police received information that the duo had fallen into the well.
The postmortem examination has revealed drowning as the cause of death.
