Two Indian fishermen arrested with ‘Kerala Ganja’

Sri Lanka Navy personnel today arrested 2 Indian fishermen with 6.5 kilograms of Kerala Ganja in the seas North of Point Pedro.
The interception was made by naval craft of the Northern Naval Command which were on routine patrol while a Fishing Dhow along with fishing gear which were onboard were also taken into naval custody.
The arrested items along with the personnel were handed over to Point Pedro Police for onward action, the navy media unit said.
According to Indian media reports, it is said that the two detained fishermen were identified as C Jagdeesh (30) of Keechankuppam fishing hamlet and one R Kalaimani (28) of Akkaraipettai fishing hamlet near Nagapattinam.
