At least 21 people have been killed in explosions at Brussels Airport and a metro station, Belgian media has reported, quoting fire fighters.
Two explosions at Brussels Airport killed 11 people, with another 35 people reported to have been severely injured.
There were unconfirmed reports of shots being fired and shouting in Arabic at the airport.
A blast struck Maalbeek metro station, close to European Union institutions, in the capital shortly afterwards.
Ten people may have been killed in that explosion, Belgian broadcaster VTM said, without giving more details.
The explosion happened as the train arrived at metro station during the morning rush hour, several other Belgian media reported but did not confirm the number of casualties.
