Sandhya Eknaligoda, the wife of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda, says that she would face a serious threat to her life if the suspects arrested in connection with her husband’s disappearance are released on bail by the court.
Addressing a press conference in Colombo today (24), she said that it has been 2,265 days since her husband went missing and was suspected to have been abducted and “murdered without evidence.”
Some people said Prageeth was drowned in an “acid bath” and killed while others said his intestines were removed and thrown to the sea, she said.
Sandhya Eknaligoda stated that it was reported in a newspaper that the suspects who were arrested and now in remand custody in connection with the disappearance are expected to be granted bail by the court.
She said that if the suspects are released on bail it would pose a serious threat to her life as well as to the officials of the Attorney General’s Department who appeared for the case.
