Navy arrests four fishermen engaged in illegal fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka in Nachchikuda arrested four local fishermen, engaged in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets in the seas off South of Iranathivu on Saturday (9).
During the arrest, 2 FGD and 3 Monofilament nets used for fishing were taken into custody, Sri Lanka Navy media unit said.
The arrested persons and the items have been handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries (Kilinochchi) for further investigations.
