As the “others” turned a blind eye on requests on aid for development projects, the Government had to seek the assistance of China, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader and Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa says.
The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (11).
Weerawansa pointed out that the Government has “tactically” accepted the development projects of the former regime, with its initiative to strengthen ties with China in a bid to expand the Hambantota Port and Mattala Airport.
“Before, they identified China as the economic hitman, but now they have changed the stance” Weerawansa added.
